If anyone's obsessed with Blake Lively, it's me. In her personal life, she considers herself to be pretty private. She doesn't disclose intimate details over social media, but in her professional life, she decided to take on social media marketing head on. In recent years, she launched the company 'preserve us.' This company highlights the stories and creations of artisans and with Blake's helping hand, they have received immense accreditation. She primarily markets these creators and designers through Instagram. Fortunately, her plan has been successful, the posts from preserve us receive thousands of likes and the importance of this marketing strategy is it's how genuine it is. She believes in eternal value and it's incredibly inspiring.

These are examples of the trendy products her company offers, all one of a kind and designed by people who have not achieved celebrity yet.
On a side note, her initial launch into stardom was Gossip Girl and if you're familiar you know that the show used a crazy amount of marketing. Always referring to different designers, stores, restaurants, artists etc. TV shows are known for driving consumers to what's "in" and it's no mystery that GG did just that.

I think this brings up an interesting point about product placement in movies and TV shows. In my opinion, GG is an appropriate place to bombard with brand names since the characters in the show actually relate to the brands and talking about them doesn't seem out of the ordinary. However, many shows and movies don't do as great a job at seamlessly integrating the brand into the script. It just becomes annoying and the viewer can tell that it is blatant advertising so they tune it out.
ReplyDeleteI love preserve us! I remember how excited I was when I first discovered this blog, because like you said, Blake Lively shares so little about her life that this was about as close as I could get. She won't even share a picture of her baby yet (dying to see it)! I think that this is a great way for brands to get recognition and for fans and consumers to get a better understanding for Blake Lively and her likes/interests. It is a way for Blake Lively to further promote her name while sharing with her fans.
